Michelin Tyre PLC – Engineering Apprenticeships


The Company is seeking to develop an Engineering Apprentice in August 2018 to be based at the Stoke Industrial site.

The learning programme is operated in conjunction with The JCB Academy and combines both the theoretical and practical elements of study and work-placed knowledge development. The apprenticeship is expected to be between 3 and 4 years in length and the educational elements of the course consists of both mechanical and electrical disciplines leading to nationally recognised qualifications.

Zytek Automotive / Continental Engineering – Engineering Apprenticeships


From day one you will join a structured training programme which will give you the understanding to become the Technician or Engineer that you want to be. You will be hands on while at work and be required to attend college one day a week. Once you have completed your apprenticeship you will be given the opportunity to continue with your education and career progression within the company.

As directed, undertake a work programme in the engineering and support departments.

  • Fitting and assembly of components.
  • Welding, fabrication, brazing, soldering and other processes.
  • Take part in meetings, supervision, training as requested by the manager.
  • Become proficient in the application and use of wide range of machine tools.
  • Participate and learn the design of new products.

Cafulan/Zoller Ltd – Engineering Apprenticeships


The role involves working with the service and applications departments to install, calibrate, train and repair all ranges of Zoller machines. The Apprentice will work alongside senior engineers to learn how to be a service or applications engineer.

There will be a full two year training programme which will involve formal technical training on different systems in Zoller Germany, hands on mentoring and instruction, plus self-study using formal documentation.

In addition the Apprentice will be trained on soft skills such as presentation, customer interaction, financial management and housekeeping.

Training will be through a combination of on the job training and classroom based study at The JCB Academy.
