All tuition, certification, equipment and materials are provided.

What is not included:
You must bring safety boots and clean, fire retardant overalls.

Who is this course for:

  • For those who have no experience of welding
  • For those who want to have some experience of the job before starting in industry
  • Learners looking to achieve a welding approval/coding
  • Learners looking to progress to higher levels and other processes

The course will cover:

  • The basics – Health & Safety, machine set up, safe settings use of the welding cycle and practice time on scrap
  • Welding joints – what makes a good weld, common problems and correction procedures
  • Three joints
  • Use of control
  • Inspection of welds

Assessment:
Final assessments are carried out through practical tasks in the form of Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and internally assessed knowledge.

EAL Level Award in Introductory Metal Inert Gas Welding Skills

Duration:
One night per week for 6 weeks (Thursday)

6:00 – 9:00pm
