Key details The role will Involve the inspection, survey and maintenance of transformers and tapchangers at site and the modernising of existing transformers. The installation of HV and LV bushings into a Transformer, the mechanical build of a Transformer and associated coolers and lay and gland multicore cables to cabling schedules.
Essential skills required for specific role
  • Grades C or higher at GCSE/A Level in Maths, English and Science
  • Must be capable or reading, understanding and working to and producing technical engineering drawings
  • Use a CAD system Have flexibility to work across the UK
  • Be reliable, organised and motivated
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure
  • Have a clean driving licence

All Intermediate Level learners attending The JCB Academy Apprentice Programme who have below a ‘C’ grade or equivalent at GCSE Level in English and Mathematics will be given tuition to gain these qualifications. All learners will also be entered for a Level 2 ICT Functional Skill qualification.

Required entry level for Advanced Level learners: Completion of an Intermediate Apprenticeship or a ‘Higher Paper’ C grade or above in Mathematics, C Grade or above in either English Literature or Language.
